My partner and I are wondering if you can purchase a 7 day rail pass upon arrival in Japan. If it is valid for 7 days are you able to use it on the 7th day or does it expire the morning of?
For example if we arrive at 2pm on the 17th can we use it on 9AM on the 24th?

Hi there,
This question as been answered quite a few times on the forum:
The JR Pass is valid for 7 days, and the first day is counted as a full day no matter what time you start using it. For instance, starting the JR Pass on a Monday, then the last day of use is the following Sunday.
